Feeling isolated can have different effects on different people: one person can be perfectly fine while the other will feel anxious or annoyed and angry. The theme for my series of paintings is emotional isolation. Using a pop art style, the works express different emotions felt by different individuals during isolation using the exaggeration of a comic-book style.

I like to use of bright colours that pop out of the screen/book, with a strong sense of emotion portrayed through the the character’s face or actions. I also enjoy the cartoon look and old fashion-vibes of the classic ‘pop art’ works that have influenced me.

The works show how quarantine affects different people in different ways, whether it be negative or positive: there are people who are homebodies (enjoy staying home), while there are people who hate staying indoors. There are also people who love to be around others while there are those who enjoy being anti-social.
