My art is very personal. Every creation is like a journal entry. Nothing is off-limits. I make art to create conversation, dilemma and questioning with one’s self but as my work expends, I am hoping to create conversations within communities and societies. I often take a personal crisis and turn it into something bigger, that can include more people in a conversation that started with myself. My work so far includes songwriting, poetry and performing. I mostly write music that falls into the r&b genre but I love to explore new styles. I approach my work in a very organic way, meaning when I am writing as a form of therapy rather than to create a body of work. I want all my work to have meaning, to have an impact on the viewer’s life. I am not afraid to get out of my comfort zone and do things that have not been done before. I want to give a voice to the unheard and create work that is personal, powerful and timeless. This is what I plan to do as an artist.
